ONE ENCHANTED EVENING...
21 June 2010
North West Cancer Research Fund (NWCRF), one of the region’s best loved charities, is to hold its annual fundraiser The Butterfly Ball, on Saturday 25th September 2010.
This glittering black tie event, taking place at the luxurious Macdonald Craxton Wood Hotel near Chester, is the largest event held by the charity each year.
Last year The Butterfly Ball raised over £11,000 and organisers are hoping to smash that total this year.
Anne Jackson, Chief Executive of NWCRF said, “This is our biggest fundraising event and is always so well supported. It’s a fantastic opportunity for people who don’t know too much about our charity to come along and meet everyone from committee members through to the research scientists themselves.”
NWCRF raises funds for research into the causes of cancer and why it spreads. Research is carried out within the Universities in Liverpool, Bangor and Lancaster.
For every £1 that the charity raises, almost 90p goes directly in to funding this vital research, making it one of the most cost effective charities in the North West.
Anne said: “This year’s ‘enchanted’ theme will add a little extra sparkle to the event for our guests and with a fabulous meal and an auction with an array of money can’t buy prizes, the evening is sure to be a huge success.”
Guests at The Butterfly Ball will enjoy a lavish three course meal with wine, entertainment from BBC Radio Merseyside’s Willie Miller as well The Black Ties and a charity auction.
