WALKING THE WIRRAL WINGED

Supporters of Liverpool-based research charity, North West Cancer Research Fund are getting limbered up, ready to take on the 15-mile challenge of this year’s Wirral Coastal Walk.
No strangers to the Coastal Walk challenge, NWCRF’s 15 supporters will this year be sporting their signature butterfly-adorned t-shirts, with the new addition of festive butterfly wings to help them on their way.
Anne Jackson, Chief Executive, NWCRF said: “We have a growing number of supporters who love the great day out the Wirral Coastal Walk provides, this year we have more supporters than ever but we’re hopeful those who haven’t quite made their mind up on which charity they’re supporting, will choose NWCRF.
“Almost 90p in every £1 donation to NWCRF goes directly to researching the causes of cancer and how it spreads at our three funded research facilities across the Universities of Liverpool, Bangor and Lancaster, so every step our supporters take on the Wirral Coastal Walk is invaluable.”
NWCRF is currently funding an ovarian cancer research project at the University of Liverpool, which is deemed to be of international importance in cancer research and could provide groundbreaking results that will contribute significantly to the understanding of the disease often dubbed ‘the silent killer’.
